Job Title: Designer/Engineer II

Department: Mechanical Engineering – HVAC/PLUMBING

Supervisor: Principals

Exempt/Nonexempt: Nonexempt

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position will develop conceptual and detailed design plans using software that ensure functionality and performance for the client’s project requirements aimed at assuring project quality and accuracy of construction deliverables. Position must have ability to interact, build rapport and communicate clearly with fellow employees and clients. This position requires mid-level proficiency and knowledge and understanding of all job responsibilities while following direction of senior team members and completing tasks on time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required
  • 5 - 10 years relevant post-graduate experience in mechanical engineering or construction
  • EIT/PE preferred
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (2 year minimum)
  • Experience with REVIT (2 year minimum) required
  • Proficient with MS Office software (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with others on a multi-discipline team
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Good time management skills, a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Commitment to exceeding company and client expectations
  • Regular and predictable presence in the office
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background check

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow direction around parameters for each project, including design elements and implementation procedures
  • Foster and maintain a customer service attitude in all client interaction
  • Understanding of how to meet compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members on project schedules and production expectations
  • Execute basic professionalism in all communication in timely and effective manner
  • Maintain professionalism that encourages and enhances the company vision
  • Possess knowledge of engineering principles and plan production
  • Knowledge of design and draft concepts of engineering drawings
  • Ability to follow direction of senior team members to translate comments into workable designs
  • Ability to guide junior team members in design and time management
  • Develop and maintain basic technical design skills to complete tasks in a timely and effective manner
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Ability to travel to local and potential out of state client/job sites.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently stand and walk throughout residential facilities.
  • Lift and move items weighing at least 20 pounds.
  • Concentrate for extended periods and organize diverse information.
  • Driving as needed to perform job tasks
