WHAT IS INTRODUCE A GIRL TO ENGINEERING?
Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day is a half-day program sponsored by the engineering community to introduce girls to engineering through fun projects and activities. This year's event includes:
  • Engineering booths with activities

  • Engineering team trivia bowl with great prizes

  • Q&A session for middle school parents on preparing your daughter for an engineering education hosted by KSU faculty and engineering professionals

  • Lunch

  • Tour of KSU's Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology

WHO:
Upper elementary (K 4-5) and middle school-age (5-8) girls who are interested in STEM!

COST:
$5 per person
Registration includes all event activities as well as pizza for lunch. Please register all members of your family who will be attending and participating in lunch. 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
When you check in on the morning of the event, you will receive a colored wristband. This is the schedule that you will follow for the day, as well as serves as your ticket for lunch. Registered parents/guardians will receive an orange wristband as their ticket for lunch.

Emmanuella Myrthil,
Diversity Division Director, HNTB
 
Emmanuella is the Diversity Division Director for HNTB's Southeast Division. She also serves as the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program Manager for the Georgia Department of Transportation's (Georgia DOT) Major Mobility Investment Program (MMIP). In this role, she works to engage, empower and elevate DBEs seeking to do business in Georgia.

Over the past 18 years, she has played a major role in providing oversight and guidance for federally funded programs for local construction projects throughout the state of Georgia. Her career in the Transportation Industry began with Georgia DOT. Throughout the years, she served as a Communications Public Relations Specialist, an Environmental Planner, and a Project Manager in the Transportation Management Center (TMC). As HNTB's Diversity Division Director, she utilizes creative and engaging strategies to raise industry awareness and diversify minority business participation in transportation projects in the Southeast. Through innovative learning sessions and business development workshops, Emmanuella and her team focus on preparing DBEs and SBEs for major works with DOTs, transit agencies, and other local municipalities.
 
She is a member of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce's Diversity and Inclusion Council and is the Chairwoman of ACEC's Inclusion & Diversity Task Force.

SPONSORSHIP INFO:
Presenting Sponsorship - $2,000 - members / $2,500 - non-members (includes top placement of logo on all event marketing, logo listed on signage for lunch, lunch for up to 5 people from your organization, booth space (2 tables) if desired, and *ability to sponsor 20 scholarships for financially challenged students)

Supporting Sponsorship - $1,000 - members / $1,250 - non-members (includes logo on all event marketing, lunch for up to 3 people from your organization, booth space if desired, and *
ability to sponsor 10 scholarships for financially challenged students)

Booth Sponsorship - $350 - members / $500 - non-members (includes one 6-foot table at the event, name on all event marketing, and lunch included for 2 people from your organization that are manning the booth)

Additional Table for Booth - $175 (includes one additional 6-foot table at the event; must be reserved in advance)

*We often hear from educators that they have students with excellent potential in math and science, but their families have limited discretionary funds, especially if they have siblings who are also interested in the event. Your sponsorship will enable us to offer free attendance for those students and you will be recognized as the benefactor of those attending on scholarship. 

All booths are responsible for providing a quick engineering game or activity that will last 5-7 minutes while the students are at the booth. Booths are also encouraged to have advertising/marketing "swag" materials as well. The activity should be engineering-related and be able to be performed individually or in pairs. Please note that KSU prohibits the use of balloons in their event facility, and any activities that require chemicals or flame must be pre-approved. You can arrive at 7:30 am on the day of the event to set up your booth. Booths must be set up by 8:45 am.



 
Pricing
Registration: $5 per person
Registration includes all event activities as well as pizza for lunch. Each student must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the event.

Parents or guardians who would like lunch will need to register.
